Is the ACLU the Enemy?
Is the ACLU the Enemy Within?

Is the American Civil Liberties Union the enemy within?
Is there any other explanation – to why cases being litigated by the ACLU, seem to reflect the enemy’s attempt at undermining the values and foundational principles of America?
Conservatives love to hate the ACLU, but instead, maybe the ACLU ought to be congratulated – for being the “devil’s advocate.” The cases being litigated actually separate true Americans from the enemies of this country’s core values. It’s easy to pick sides, and maybe that is exactly what the ACLU is trying to do, point out the enemies of America’s values.
Next time you hear about the validity of a woman’s right to ‘murder unborn children,’ from Senator Ted Kennedy’s mouth, look at him closer – he may be wearing the colors of the enemy underneath his $2,000 suit. How else can one understand the lack of rational thinking and unrighteous motivation?
If Senator Eugene McCarthy were alive and still authorized to pursue all the “commies” in government, as well as in the private sector, he would have sent all his frazzled investigators to the ACLU.
However, he might have done more good sending them to the “gang of 14” – those 14 Democrats in the U.S. Senate, led by the aging Kennedy, who tends to make promises, but routinely break them.
In one of the ACLU’s latest moves – a federal lawsuit has been filed seeking to strike down a provision of the Patriot Act that prevents foreigners who endorse terrorism from entering the U.S. The suit was filed in Federal District Court in Manhattan on behalf of a Muslim named Tariq Ramadan, a Swiss citizen that has been denied a United States visa since July 2004.
A spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security cited the Patriot Act clause as the reason Ramadan's visa was canceled. The provision bans foreigners who “endorse or espouse terrorist activity or persuade others” to support terrorism.
The ACLU suit seeks a declaration that the Patriot Act provision at issue is unconstitutional. It also seeks a court order preventing the government from relying on the provision to exclude Ramadan or any other foreign national.
One has to wonder what the ACLU is fighting for. Is it for the Muslim’s right to express his views on the war in Iraq, and at the same time support and endorse terrorism, or is it to point out that Americans shouldn’t allow anyone to come in to the country and recruit terrorists?
Ramadan is reported to be the author of several books on Islamic theology, and filed a new visa application in September, after receiving invitations for speaking engagements in the U.S. When interviewed in December in Switzerland by agents of the Homeland Security and State Departments, Ramadan reportedly told them that he thought “the war in Iraq was a mistake and illegal,” but denied having supported or endorsed any terroristic acts.
